LED Alcove

We were asked to design a storage solution for a modern kitchen that elevates beyond mass-produced options while maintaining a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The space needed to accommodate both practical storage and decorative display, particularly for items like wine glasses and herbs, without compromising the kitchen's refined design language.

We created a backlit alcove system that integrates seamlessly into the kitchen's architecture. Using Corian paired with LED light sheets, we developed a display feature that transforms blank walls into dynamic focal points. The alcoves connect to the centralized lighting system, creating a warm, diffused atmosphere when mood lighting is activated. Each 2.4 x 1.2m panel was precision water-cut to match computer templates, with bullnosed edges for a refined finish. The result merges practical storage with architectural lighting, bringing life and warmth to the contemporary space.
