Platform Bed

Our clients commissioned us to create a low-profile platform bed that would enhance the sense of space in an urban apartment while maintaining a strong design presence. The piece needed to complement panoramic city views and integrate seamlessly with the modern architectural elements of the space. CEEN designed this platform bed as a grounding element within the bedroom, emphasizing horizontal lines to enhance the room's connection to its cityscape views. The bed features an expansive black-stained platform that extends beyond the mattress dimensions, creating a practical surface for daily use while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. A dramatic steel headboard spans the width of the bed, its brushed metal finish reflecting and diffusing light throughout the space. This industrial material choice creates a sophisticated dialogue with the urban environment visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The low-level design of the platform allows the city views to remain unobstructed while providing a sense of sanctuary within the space. The result is a piece that balances functional simplicity with architectural impact, demonstrating CEEN's ability to create furniture that enhances rather than competes with its surrounding environment.
