Our newly built apartment was unwelcoming, sterile, bleak and audaciously new. With just under 4 weeks to complete the project in December, a notoriously demanding period for designers and high-end furniture procurement, we embraced the challenge of transforming this space.

CEEN's approach intentionally countered the apartment's sterility. We enveloped the living space in warm white linen curtains, shielding inhabitants from the inevitable Mancunian weather. The furniture selection was deliberately eclectic - a combination of jute fabrics, raw linens, buttery leathers, and white cowhides - laying the foundation for a varied collection of styling items that paid homage to the owners' well-seasoned lives.

A 15-year-old Italian mirror with distinctive red and blue striping became the showpiece, its colors subtly echoed throughout the living space. We curated pieces with heritage and character, avoiding contemporary furniture that might reinforce the apartment's modernist severity. Each item was selected to contribute to the narrative of a well-lived home, facilitating an immediate connection between our clients and their new space.

The result was a sophisticated urban sanctuary that felt both curated and organically evolved, transforming a stark penthouse into a warm, characterful home.
